Boring, Not Bored
π³π³π³"You aren't bored...you are boring." Ouch, Sarah. That hurts a little..well before you think your business, your fitness routine, your relationship is boring hear me out....
In this fast paced, instant gratification world we are ALWAYS looking for the NEXT BEST THING. I thought that same thing guys, and while I thought, "I'm just growing and needing to learn and try new things."... I was actually not bringing or creating JOY in my life.... I was SEARCHING for it outside of what I already had. There's a slight difference between the 2 and I had to give myself a REALITY Check before I dove into the next thing.
I had to get back to the basics.
I needed to Work from a list and clear out the distractions &fears of failure.
I needed to increase my personal growth and learn from my mentors.
I had to make time for CREATIVITY and NOT ALLOW myself to fall into that boredom frame of mind.
I had to STOP trying to FIT IN & comparing myself to others.
I had to Check mark off the things that might have seemed boring to me but I knew deep down, I had to stick to it in order to see results.
Now I'm NOT saying this is relatable to EVERYONE. I'm saying that if you feel you are SEARCHING, think about the saying "The grass is greener where you water it." What aligns with YOUR goals in life?!? Who can help you get there?!? And what's ONE action step can you take today to get OUT OF THE BOREDOM TRACK!?!?
Guys, I'm not saying you are boring person...(I'm pretty nice,ask my husbandπππΌ).....what I'm saying is don't settle for mediocre. You are meant for more. Hurdles & heartaches are unavoidable but it's YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to change and adapt and CHOOSE to bring life back to what you are passionate about. So go after it & crush this Monday!!!! π
There Is A Better Way
I was working at the gym and thinking "How the heck do people make a full-time income from this!?!?!" I taught 6am classes, personal trained 12-5pm then more classes again that evening.
Guys, I was NOT getting enough sleep. I was over-training like CRAY and with ALL the ongoing certification monthly fees and time invested into practicing and memorizing new routines and coming up with fitness plans for my clients I was depleted...emotionally, physically and financially.
During all this I began stalking people about this ONLINE health and fitness craze. Curious and skeptical and afraid of failure I waited almost 2 years before I took the leap. And Guys, This wasn't easy. I'm not gonna lie. I pushed past panic attacks, losing "friends" (who were toxic anyway, so it's coolππΌ) and trying trying to find pockets of time to do this......But I GAINED confidence, knowledge, freedom to work my own hours and a community of people who support you EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.
I didn't join some "COOL" crowd, instead it was a judge free, care free group of people who saw a BETTER WAY. Dude, this has been the most lucrative move in my fit-career. And I also confronted my binge & emotional eating disorder and realized true health begins with our mindset & I've helped more people because we tackle that head on and dive into personal growth daily. I don't say all this to show off, I'm saying it to tell YOU that YESSSSSSSSS, there is a better way.
It takes time & consistency but yes you can do this while working FT. I built this on my one day off and pockets of time between classes and clients. And no you don't have to be at your IDEAL or GOAL weight to inspire others! Didn't I mention my eating disorder!?!!? Ya'll....I struggle. I've found it's those that want MORE out of life for themselves and others that find the GREATEST struggles. Can you relate!?ππ½ββοΈππ½ββοΈ
Think about it...We are the dreamers AND the do-ers. We struggle because we are the rule breakers and sometimes it takes 100 tries before we feel "ok" about our work and we feel sometimes its "easier" for others. I soooo get it so I wanted to share with you what's helped me. And because apparently I'm a laid back-CONTROL FREAK I, (almost daily), have to make a list of what I CAN CONTROL.
And yes YOU have more control over your life too even if you don't feel it at times. So join me..... Take a deep breath and write it, say it & believe it.....and even if these things aren't true to you yet, remind yourself that YES, these truths eventually win over lies we might say to ourselves EVERY DAY. #ownthatpower

We All Suck
Yep, you're going to suck...but don't we all!?!?π€·π½ββοΈπ€·π½ββοΈπ€·π½ββοΈ I know I do at times. Embracing failure and showing up is what keeps me going through the hard times. π³ππΌ
Most of what we do are habits created over time, so while you might think some people are just more "motivated" to do something it's because to them it is habit or routine.
Just like brushing your teeth. You wouldn't forget on a daily basis because we have created a daily routine for brushing. We find it easy and a must do habit. Right!?!?(well hopefully π€£)
So in order to be that TYPE of person you want to become you must ACT as in a way that person already exists. Yes, change is hard and developing a routine is hard, but YES it becomes easier as that good habit is formed.

πΊMake your circle more supportive of this posotive change. πΊEnvision who you are and how you feel when this routine is performed 10, 50, 100 times.
πΊAnd lastly forgive yourself for being a beginner!!!!!! Don't dount yourself for doing something a FIRST TIME (or even a first hundred times!). It takes 10,000 hours to master ONE THING. π³ I read that once, so it just be trueπ
And yes, We ALL have FIRST times!!! So go and do that thing that makes you stronger, healthier wealthier, smarter or kinder and more grateful. EVERYDAY. πΊ and if ya need a supporter, I'm just a message awayπ

From my own experience and from working with enough people, I have found that our "friend " group will change as we treat ourself better. And dude, it's TOTALLY OK. As your life gets better some people will encourage, support and want to change for the better too....or they won't. That's the hard part of being a dreamer with goals. You WILL experience the backlash, but don't worry, there is community and love and Waaaayyyyy more love and support on the other end. So keep going πππ
On the Mend
Happy Saturday! Thanks for all the sweet messages and comments guys. I think we all have times in our lives where things don't go right but those times are there to remind us that when things DO go right we can recognize the blessing it truly is and not take our life for granted. This is one of those times.
My back is feeling a bit better. I followed a lot of the advice you all gave for a thrown out/sprain back. Iced first 24 hours then switched to heat. The ibuprofen and oils really helped quite a bit too.
I've decided I'm going to take a full 10 days off and resume my program and classes next Monday just to be safe. I will add in light stretching in a few days. Thanks again for your messages. I have found that if I share my goals with others I am more likely to stay true to my word, because yes, I can break promises to myself in secret alllll dayyyyy, errday. Buuut if someone else knows then it's out there. My story is told and my vision is cast. Now all I have to do is show up for it.
I emailed Eddie my next dream because I want to see it happen. It's been on my mind for the past 7 years and I think it's time to take action on it. Tbh, it's more than past timeπ€¦π½ββοΈ

Listen babe, those are the wrong questions to ask. You must first ask...."When I do this & it's successful what will that look like for myself and for others?" ..."Would it solve problems?"... "Would it bring about positive change?..."Would I regret not going after this?" ..."If not now, then WHEN?"

I threw out my back last night sitting on a swivel chair reaching for something on the ground. Like seriously, what!?!?! I was in a lot of pain last night, then the cat was starting to throw up on our bed so I moved so fast I must have aggravated it even more. Thanks Mai Kitty(still love her tho)...
I now can't move without pain and from everything I read on a sprained back I'm pretty sure I need to rest for at least a week.πππ so that means no Zumba class tomorrow. I'm so sorry to my local peeps, I will plan on having the Friday class moved to November and will start our #firstfridayfitness series then.π¨
Ugggghhhhh, anyone else thrown out their back!?!? I'm open to suggestions, right now I will be icing it the first 12 hours then switching back and forth to a heating pad and taking a hot epson salt bath. And of course my oils are helping with the pain. ππΌ

For me I KNOW I needed more greens and I have been getting veggies in from our hello fresh dinners but according to my portions, I need another serving soooooooo thanks to my fellow fit girl Candace(thanks boo), she inspired me to get a huge bag of spinach and fill up a sandwich bag...I filled up 13 and I'm going to freeze them and add them to my superfoods smoothies that I have for lunch everyday.
I'm saying all this to tell you if a lazy fitgirl like myself can do this, then so can you!!!!! Living healthy, going after goals, doing all the things means you got to STOP being lazy for just a few minutes, that way you can be lazy later....I mean, why else do ya think I make a shake everyday(only 1 dish yall.ππΌππΌππΌ ) #superfoodsforthewin #virtualbootcamp #absaremadeinthekitchen

Heyyyyy, just your friendly reminder that the opinions that others have about you is none of YOUR business. The moment I stopped caring what other people thought the more quickly I realized I was giving away ALL of my power over to being liked and approved of. Screw that! β
Those that judge me will judge me regardless of what I do or don't do. This was a hard truth for me to accept because YES, the MORE you put yourself out there the MORE you will be judged....
And when GOOD things happened to me I started to see certain people around me change.......some people loved and supported me but some did NOT. I was blocked on social media by more than a few "friends" and some girls just stopped inviting me to their nights out....and I've come to find that they didn't like me not because of anything I did or didn't do but because they resented me. And I know this because I used to have that mindset too.
My resentment & jealousy of others was just a way for me to hide in the lies that I was a victim. And when you are victim you can only blame others and not take responsibility for a better life. Well that JUST PLAIN SUCKS.π¨
So if you are jelly of someone busting their butt for a healthier,wealthier and happier then HUSH THAT INNER MEANIE & go congratulate them!!!! And if you want that kinda life. ASK.THEM.HOW. For reals.
