Accountability

I might use social media to connect with others and help them find solutions(if they need &/or want it) but I also use this platform for my OWN accountability.

These workout posts/personal development rants I often go on and on about don't really get a lot of traction(probably bc I'm not following the algorithm to "grow my reach") but tbh, I don't care. 🀣

I just want to show up, share, and motivate myself to keep going....if that happens to motivate one other person to keep going....then icing on the cake.

I shared in stories the other day about how when 243 people see my post, I usually have 5 that "like" it.

Those numbers used to get me so down about myself...but just like the scale, numbers mean NOTHING.

I am WORTH MORE than the number of the views or likes.

And if you want to share for YOUR own accountability also, then do it!!! You have at least one friend who will be supporting and liking that pic or video.

Love ya!

10 Years Later...

10 years later... What do you think? In 10 years can a person change? To me, I think so.

I remember working soooo many hours at soooo many different gyms, and at one point, at Golds Gym in Lancaster PA, I passed out DURING that job interview.

I asked to excuse myself to get water during the interview, and ran to the bathroom thinking I had to throw uo...then almost made it to the stall only to fall backwards, hitting my head on the floor. Ya think I was overtraining? Um yea...yea I was.

Needless to say, I didn't get the job.

I started working online 2 years later, and I'm so grateful that I now work out 5 hours a week instead of 25 hours a week.

I'm healthier, happier, and also can afford to have my own schedule(finally). Trust the process, friends. Look for the opportunity to grow, say yes to what scares you, and always remember, you are worthy to get uncomfortable and grow too.

#transformationtuesday

I haven't done a #transformationtuesday post in a bit so I wanted to share how much this is much more of an EMOTIONAL transformation than a physical one.

Ya see I used to struggle with binge and emotional eating & tbh, if I have a bag of doritos or white claw in my house, it's STILL a battle.

So I keep it out, and I'm now only a social drinker and have gone from a drink a day down to 2 a week.

And binge worthy foods...no way. If we HAVE to have them in the house, then I ask Eddie to hide them, and he does. It's a good system bc I know it works bc I've shared this with him.

Ya see when you don't think you have a problem you will say that you DON'T and you will hide the fact that you are eating everything in sight when no one is looking and you will also weigh yourself everyday, multiple times a day...and also not talk about it.

You will also workout LIKE CRAZY to make up for the fact that you feel like you "ate bad" and to you there is no easy way "get healthy"....I get it.

Until finally you reach out to a friend, & say you have a problem.

You also ask your husband to throw out the scale. Which he does.

Then you join a health challenge to learn more about WHY turning to food, nail biting, and anxiety has been this longterm struggle.

You buy vegetables......then you throw away a lot of vegetables. πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈ Until you cook them that one time and see a bit of hope.

You start drinking a smoothie daily along with your fruit for the day, and your gut starts to heal and you start counting your wins.

..then 10 years later your hub asks to get a scale and you say GO FOR IT...then you weigh yourself and feel nothing. No guilt, no shame, nothing.

That's growth, my friends. Admit theres a problem and reach out to me, or another friend you trust if you felt this on some level. I know there's a better way. This is NOT about being perfect, this is about moving forward and setting up an environment suitable for YOU and YOUR goals.

And trust me, your mindset around food CAN be changed. You got this. 80/20. Live a life that's liveable so you love it.

Love you,

Xo

What a Weekend!

I've probably started this post over like 5x bc I keep getting tears in my eyes, and I can't seeπŸ€£πŸ˜πŸ’ŸπŸ™πŸ½ seriously, though I can not thank Karma Smith & Tracy enough for having me out to International Dance and Fitness Academy

I am forever grateful to Karma for encouraging me to start my own formats, and since doing that, I've fallen even MORE in love with teaching.

Like Karma, we are very similar in the Rebel sense, and when someone says, "No, you can't," our reply is" WATCH ME." LOL.

That's what I love about her, she loves hard, and she stands up for her friends and pushes them to grow.

I love you, Karma!! Thank you for everything!!!!

And HUGE, thank you to Karen for hosting me and picking me up at 1am and dropping me off at 4am....what the heck, who does that?!?! You are the kindest person I've ever met Karen L. McManus-Carreiro πŸ’ŸπŸ’ŸπŸ’Ÿ seriously so grateful for you and so excited to teach with you in January on the #dancefitnesscruise #dfc9

And THANK YOU TO EVERYONE that came out!!!! You all brought a smile to my face, and I feel so freaking grateful for each and every one of you!!!!!

And Holy booty, I'm feeling it today!!!! Anyone else!?!?!?

Hope to see you ALL again in January for the DANCE FITNESS CRUISE πŸ˜πŸ›³πŸπŸ’ƒ

Hidden Dangers?!

Are you aware of the hidden dangers of candle smoke and hormone disruption!?!?

I saw a friend talk about the danger of candles, and I googled what was in mine OH SNAP...

So last month I switched to a WAYY BETTER quality candle and here's why...

Beyond compromising air quality, burning candles, especially those made from certain materials, can also introduce hormone-disrupting compounds into our environment.

The smoke you can't see can also contain a cocktail of potentially harmful chemicals. Paraffin-based candles, which are commonly used, release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) like formaldehyde, benzene, and toluene when burned. These chemicals don't just affect our breathing; they can also interfere with the balance of hormones in our bodies!!!!

Let's deep dive into what this means...

Hormone Disruptors are substances that can interfere with the normal functioning of our endocrine system, which controls the release of hormones that regulate various bodily processes.

Exposure to hormone disruptors has been linked to a range of health issues, including reproductive problems, developmental disorders, and even an increased risk of certain cancers.

Many candles, particularly those made with synthetic fragrances and paraffin wax, can contain phthalates and other chemicals that act as hormone disruptors. These compounds are used to stabilize fragrance and enhance burn properties, but they can be released into the air when the candle is burned, where they're easily inhaled or absorbed through the skin.

So before you buy your favorite fall and winter candles. Do your research!!!!

Yet ANOTHER REASON that I freaking LOVE my Holistic Home Wellness Store!!! They have the BEST CANDLES TOO!!

Trying to Do Better

The older I get the more I want others to be treated FAIRLY.

Sure I have DEFINITELY supported companies that deep down I knew that there were workers being taken advantage of and just because I didnt see it, doesnt mean it's not real.

So I sought out working with companies that DO BETTER FOR US ALL.

Now I refer what I think is, THE BEST. That's it.

I have to ask you, did Walmart ever pay you to refer others to shop with them?

Also, do you KNOW where those products are made and if EVERYONE was treated fairly in manufacturing those products?

That’s the difference with where I shop now....and have now been shopping these last 3 years...

This company is the manufacturer, the distributor AND the customer service, (I talked to Yolanda 2 days in a row, & and yes, it's people paid well HERE in the US) ...

Btw, you will NEVER SEE THEM ADVERTISE.

Instead, I get a pretty incredible "Thank you check" for my referrals. From a (DEBT FREE) US company that has a 96% reorder rate where over 20,000+ families shop at EVERY month!

Referral shopping (thats good for ALL) is what most people need MORE OF.

I will do a better job at this going forward because I want us ALL to win & I believe that we should all have a chance at success.

I'm not quite as "crunchy" as I want to be, but I'm getting there.

I Say Yes

When asked to stop work for a day, I now say YES...without guilt. This year I chose my word to be YES, and if I'm not feeling aligned with it, then it's a NO.

The rest of this year is already looking SO DIFFERENT & I'm so grateful for the choices I've recently made. I can't wait to celebrate something BIG, but I almost feel like it's not real yet. πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ½ whatever you fear, go after it. And ALWAYS fight for what you deserve, bc babe You ARE WORTHY!

Balance

Coming from a background of playing basketball, then onto yeaching Zumba for 14+ yeaes, my ankles were freaking SHOT. So I started adding in more balance and mobility in my classes, not just for them, but also FOR ME and I noticed my balance was SO MUCH BETTER!!!!!!.

It's so so important to have a variety of excercises!

Do you do the same in your classes, or also love classes or programs that teach this? What's something that has improved for you since doing more variety?
