Selfie, in the sun, break between work Yesterday was pay day in the Coaching world and I shared something with my team mates that I wanted to share with you too....
I'm grateful for my paycheck this week bc.... we just paid $267 for a new tire and it didn't break the bank.... like it used to.
I remember when our car broke down when we were first married and we had to wait 2 weeks before we could afford to buy a car....we had to borrow a friend's car until then and I just had this guilt about not being able to afford a car when we needed it.
Why does ADULTING HAVE TO SUCK!?!?!!?
Money issues didn't end there. We also couldn't buy a house or take time off work & I just felt STUCK.
... but I had HOPE for a better life when I met some ONLINE COACHES crushing it & I was curious...a little envious...ok let's be real..
REALLY REALLY ENVIOUS of their lifestyle.
I thought long (almost 2 years) before I signed up. Progress was slow, but my hope for a BETTER tomorrow was strong. So I kept at it....
& since then I am so grateful that Coaching has given me the freedom of working from home(or while sunbathing at a friend's house) ... & also this year I bought my dream car.
It's such a different feeling having bills pop up and NOT freak out. I can't even explain it.
I share this with you because maybe you are in the same predicament I was & you are looking for something like this too.
If you are a dreamer AND someone willing to work from their phone, then let's chat. I will teach you EVERYTHING I know. ( I mean you are on social media for an hour a day already, might as well get paid for it)
Yes, this takes work, time & consistency but it's so so worth it.
Let's make the word "ADULTING" fun...because I haven't had this much fun since I was a kid soaking up the rays before summer break ended...and I can thank this career for this.

About 10 years separates these pics!! Overcoming emotional eating & overtraining is the reason I'm never going to stop inviting you to do this with me.

In 2011 I was teaching 15+ fitness classes a week & practicing routines for another 10 hours a week, so YES I was working out 25 hours a week! It's no wonder I was starving, overeating& bingeing ALL.THE.TIME.!
Im currently down to working out about 5 hours a week with Online Coaching & the programs I offer/follow!!! And that's STILL including my weekly Zumba Toning class I teach!!!
I know some people might think this 'workout thing' came easy to me but let me tell you something....It took me nearly 2 years to sign up...then another 3 years to finally COMMIT to a program START TO FINISH.
And now that I have started AND finished over 10 programs these last 4 years I am SO MUCH HEALTHIER- in every sense of the word.
Im sharing this because it's Ohhhhkkayyyyyy if you have failed, over and over again(just like I have). And it's also ok if you are still on the fence about this! I talk to SO MANY PEOPLE and something we ALL have in common....we are afraid to FAIL in front of a friend.
I get it, but I want YOU to know that what I needed when I started was a friend that STILL loved me even through my failures and that's why I fell in love with Coaching. We have eachothers backs. We encourage eachother and UNDERSTAND that life happens!! Nobody's perfect and that is NOT the goal- a HEALTHY & HAPPY LIFE is the goal
I want YOU to know that you aren't alone in this. I want you to know that me & my group are rooting for YOU. So whether you are showing up for the 1st time or the 10,000th time, I'm proud of you!!!
With that said I am starting another group in about 30 days & of COURSE I want you there bc I want you to experience these real and positive changes WITH US.
So how about it?!? In 31 days my group is starting a 3 day detox to help heal the gut from over processed foods then we begin THIS PROGRAM on September 20th. Ya gonna keep watching, or ya gonna crush this WITH US?!?!

Effortless Change?
How is it that some people can change thier life and it seems effortless? I know for me, I couldn't compete with that...so why even try!?!?
I was fine with my C average in school and when I dropped out of college I really didn't think of any type of future plans..."NOT DRIVEN" would be a pretty good adjective to define who I was.
For a decade I rrally didn't know WHO I wanted to become but I didn't take REAL ACTION because I needed to "unlearn" who I THOUGHT I was so that I could allow myself permission to grow into who I OUGHT TO BE.
I thought..."Maybe it's time to stop defending what I DON'T like about myself & start living by who I WANT to be...bc THAT person is in alignment with how I want to live out my days.
These changes didn't come easy, but I knew if I don't change, then nothing changes.
Maybe you are at that same point and frustrated with where you are at. Hear me out because this might help you too...
Instead of saying.... " I CAN'T get up early to do....X,Y,Z. Say to yourself instead...
"Because I get up early to accomplish.."task" ...I am becoming the type of person who I am proud of.
"Because I am pursuing this career, I am learning new things everyday and I am grateful for where this will lead me."
"Because I am taking care of myself, I am not only affecting my health but also inspiring those that I love around me."
Visualize this life. How does it look AND feel? Where will it lead you someday?
Is it worth taking a chance on the NEW YOU?
I'd say it is. Our past does NOT matter, but what DOES matter is how you are living TODAY & how you are looking AHEAD.
If you spend all your time looking behind you then you hit more walls and more problems. You let your past show you the way, but change doesn't exist there. It us HERE & NOW.
Instead look for the hope and belief that you are ready for the life you want.
When you hear the fear and self limiting beliefs speak up in your life tell it... "thank you for trying to protect me, but it's time learn & grow. It's time for ME to change & I welcome these new changes."

It Was Tough, But...
I don't like what I do...I LOVE it...but only because I was willing to TRY, & CRY & FAIL over and over and over again.
First class ever taught...STEP. I was SO BAD everyone stopped coming, so I decided to do my own thing and take some combos from Tae Bo and bootcamp videos I had memorized & made it into a class.
A year after that I found Zumba, 6 years after that I found Coaching....and here I am today, almost 14 years into a "fitness career".
But tbh, it was HARD.
It was HARD getting haters on YT with that stupid thumbs down option (why is that even a thing YT?!)
It was also HARD never having ANY paid time off. I honestly didn't know what PTO stood for until a few years ago
It was HARD when I started my own Online Coaching biz and well, fellow entrepreneurs can admit this but it seems you are paid 10 cents an hour in the beginning...so yea that was tough too when you are USED to being paid when you "clock in"..but trust me, it was worth it.
One thing was ALWAYS constant though.. CHANGE... and hopefully our mindsets are also willing to change and GROW too, because I would have thrown in the towel if I wasn't willing to do the mental work to overcome my fears & TRUST myself to FOLLOW THROUGH.
I say all this bc if you are just starting out or thinking about getting into fitness instructing, personal training or Online Coaching I want you to remember that all things WORTH working for take time, consistency and a WHOLE Lotta faith that what you are doing is EXACTLY what you should be doing.
You might not feel it yet, but KEEP GOING. Keep showing up and if ya need any help I'm here for ya. We already know what life looks and feels like when you quit, but what about life when you don't quit?? What do you think that could look like and feel like?? Worth it!?!? Yea, I'd say so.
Ghost Story Time!
#throwbackthursday to the day a ghost talked to me.
Some of ya might not know this story so I thought I would share! On this day 10 years ago Eddie & I went to Sachs Red Covered Bridge in Gettysburg.
We had gone ghost hunting the night before and after a ridiculous tour with listening to the radio channels change and people trying to convince us orbs were in fact ghosts and not JUST dust particles catching the flash of the light … Don't even get me started on this. Bc while I believe in ghosts I am very skeptical by what people WANT to see and hear. (the look on my face in this pic kinda says it all)
Annnyyhooooooo... We decided to go out the next morning when it was JUST us 2 and NO ONE ELSE on this Bridge. That's where the story gets interesting and in fact REAL.
We brought a voice recorder and placed it in the center of the bridge. We then walked up and down it a few times to see if we heard or saw or felt anything.
I said my name was Sarah and this is Eddie....I in fact made a TERRIBLE PUN and asked if the 2 men hung here were still "hanging around". Ok, tbh I felt really bad about that one, so don't give me any crap about it.
Eddie at one point thought he heard something. I didn't and was probably just chomping my gum too loud. So we took our recorder and went home.
He found a BLIP on the recording file and Boosted the sound. What you hear is just CRAZY.
"Oh sweet Sarah, go along your way."
Ummmm, poop my pants much!?!? Yea. I WAS A LITTLE FREAKED.

You Are Good Enough
Your Monday Reminder: You are ENOUGH. ALWAYS. Too often this list holds us back but what we often forget is that the people who we admire MOST have also experienced these pains but they decided to to keep trying. Keep going friend, I believe in you.
Suits Day
Ya ever have a SUPER productive day and think...."I'm gonna watch all the TV now"!?!? we are still going through All things Marvel (& yes, this was not planned...I just realized I'm wearing a Marvel shirt too) just curious, what are your shows lately!?!? I also love me some "SUITS" when I'm feeling more drama. What about you?!
Wants v. Needs
Happy August friends!!!!! Maybe you are also starting a new program also or planning out your month but instead of writing out "WANTS" I want you to think about the "NEEDS" of your life.
Here's why....
Don't think about you WANT in life...you won't show up for that "want" long enough to see any REAL results.....but you will show up for a "NEED".
Think about it...you might say you WANT....
I want those abs or booty gains
I want a better paying job
I want more freedom with my time
I want more confidence
But we need to stop thinking "WANTS" and more so start thinking "NEEDS".
I NEED to healthier so that I can have the energy to take care of myself and those that I love....for a LONG time.
I NEED to push my doubts aside and not "want" for a better job, but instead PURSUE IT through REAL action because I NEED to be able to provide more for my family because struggles suck and staying stuck is not an option ANYMORE.
I NEED to work towards more time freedom. I NEED this because time is going way too fast & I want the rest of my life, from here on out, to be the BEST of my life filled with MORE time spent with those I love.
I NEED to have more confidence because if I continue down this path of people pleasing and never feeling worthy & too scared to try something new I know I will end up right where I am...miserable and bitter and regretful and hopeless.
When you push the WANTS aside and look at the NEED for change you get to to the root cause of WHY you NEED this change to occur. Dig deeper friend...you NEED to do this to find what'’s motivating you for REAL and LONG LASTING change.
Will you get uncomfortable along the way? You better believe it!!!
Will you lose some "friends " that probably never had your back to begin with? Ummm, I hope so....And so should you!
A Better life is on the other side of ACTION...now do you "NEED" it or just "kinda want" it right now?!?
Your needs matter, because YES, YOU MATTER. Don't forget that.
Disadvantages = Advantages
"Our disadvantages are actually our advantages." I heard this in my audiobook and I thought about it and realized what he said was so so true.
Take for example...
I am a college dropout. Is that a disadvantage? Sure, but because of this I was willing to go the unconventional way to find success & happiness & fullfilment.
I failed WAYYY MORE times because of my stubbornness but I never quit at trying. I eventually found failures to be a way of growth & I welcomed it. (This took years of suck...not overnight guys).
I even opened up my own fitness studio only to close it just one year later...a disadvantage? Nahhh. A LEARNING OPPORTUNITY to make me realize what I TRULY want from a career.....
I wanted to help people, yes, but I wanted the time to UNPLUG & see the people I love MORE.

It's OK, to feel like you have the odds stacked against you...it could lead you to RIGHT where you want to be.
Who knows maybe your disadvantages could lead you to something more fulfilling too....only if you are willing to fail forward and not let the doubts of others and yourself hold you back.
