Working online is strange sometimes. I'm in my inbox a LOT and I always find it interesting when I'm supportive of others and their work (I TRULY want them to win!) but when I turn around and invite someone to something FREE that my Naturopath Dr. offers I get SO MUCH push back. πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

But then I remeber WHY I do this. It's not for the ONE who doesn't see this value, but it's for the open minded who DO know I care for them and truly want to share what is helpful. FOR FREE!!!

"Hi!! I teach classes all evening on Tuesdays but I’ve been meaning to join a session! Thanks for inviting me! I’m thankful that you don’t give up on folks like me on the fringe."

10 minutes later from another person....

"I’m sorry, did I ask for this info? I’m not into health or wellness or neuropathy so this invite seems very weird"

I honestly should have known. Bc this girl just sends me thumbs ups and only invites me to sign up for her "stuff." And Tbh… I hate thumb ups. 😹😹😹😹😜😜😜😜

I don't even know how to share about one of most dearest friends, Karen. She taught Aqua Zumba on this cruise, but it's not JUST what she teaches that makes her stand out.

It's her LOVE OF PEOPLE. She wears her heart on her sleeve and offers more support than you probably deserve. Just saying. πŸ˜œπŸ˜˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ½

She's a REAL FAN of everyone, and she's the type of friend you wish you had all your life!

Family Dinner

We just had a nice dinner with my mom n' law, Toni. She was here for the funeral of her sister, and while it was a sad & heartfelt week, we shared many laughs and memories about her dear sister Donna.

I only had the chance to meet Donna 1x, but in that short visit I just remember her infectious and loud laugh😹.

Its the kind you don't forget & the next time Eddie played a video game he belted out the loudest cackle and I realized that he gets his laugh from her. πŸ’Ÿ

She will always be remembered for that laugh and I will smile and think of her when I hear Eddie's laugh from now on.πŸ’Ÿ

Monday Reminder

Chronic Pain

Let's talk about chronic pain for a bit...

Did I think I had plantar fascitis for the last decade? Yup.

Did I have to wear compressions socks and pain cream for the last few years?

Yup.

Was I in excruciating pain when I peed while I was ovulating?

Yup.

Did I have restless leg syndrome for as long as I can remember and have trouble waking up?

Yup.

This pain has been with me for so long, that I thought it was normal.

It's not.

My OBGYN said The pill or a hysterectomy was my ONLY OPTION for my fibroids so I've been working more closely with my friend, Naturopath, Dr Shannon (we have incredible Wellness Workshops with her, keep an eye out for them)!!!

About a year ago my legs stopped hurting and I woke up rested because of a magnesium supplement I started using.

In Septmener I started using High absorption rate vitamins and since then my the pain & inflammation in my ankles are GONE. πŸ˜πŸ˜­πŸ™πŸ½

3 days ago, I started drinking this daily Goddess Moonshine and I finally have some faith when it comes to my fibroids.

I truly believe that healing AFTER 40 is possible friends. May this be our healthiest year friends.

10 years ago, January 2014, I was finally aware of my binge and emotional eating enough to do something about it.

But in my solution to help me heal I decided to join an online challenge...I had JUST singed up for a "cleanse" that left me $400 broke. I ended up going all in for a month with this "diet" with 2 shakes a day and also a fasting period with VERY limited calories.

At that point I was teaching 15 + classes a week & did NOT need to be in a calories deficit, but I was told this is how EVERYONE SIGNS UP and I had to do it this way.

Well, I ended becoming my unhealthiest weight & thought I looked strong, but was, in fact, NOT.

Since I couldn't afford this monthly cleanse, I went in & applied for yet another gym job & PASSED OUT during the job interview. 😳 needless to say, I didn't get the job .

From that point in my life, I sought out more holistic approaches to help heal my emotional and binge eating tendencies.

2 ways that helped me THE MOST

#1 Admit, you need help

#2 Set up your environment suitable for YOUR GOALS

What I do now is recommend ways to help people increase protein & fiber from a more holistic approach.

What I do is NOT a one size fits all and I KNOW we are built differently so it's important to acknowledge that....so the next time you are told...."this is what works for EVERYONE"...just question it and get to know the person helping you.

Are they hearing YOU or are they TELLING you what you need?

And babe, the ONLY weight you need to lose is the weight of other people's opinions or standards about you.

Be your own health advocate. Do your research. Ask questions & again please take the 2 tips that helped me.

Btw, I'm starting a new wellness challenge with some friends on Jan 8th, & this question keeps coming up. "Do I really ONLY eat from the YES LIST!?".... and my short answer is HECK NO.

I've believed in this 80/20 lifestyle for nearly a decade now & I would NEVER advise you to try to be perfect bc it could not only hurt you but it could send you in a downward spiral like it did for me.
