Today I'm grateful for family I get to see often. Today I'm grateful for a job I love. Today I'm grateful for the chances I've taken to get to where I am. Today I'm thankful I search out and see the positive in situations and not listening to my negative self limiting beliefs.
To become HAPPIER it doesn't have to take years. It happens in the seconds of your day. Think about taking 1 minute to make a short list of what makes you grateful. Over-Trainer
Coming from a recovering OVER-TRAINER....do NOT push your body SO HARD day after day that your body CAN'T recover!π€π€ I was reminded of my own physical limits this weekend and I'm so thankful that I CAN have recovery time. Because that wasn't always the case...

When I was teaching 15+ classes a week I was NOT treating my body right. All the while I was eating a lot of food to try to make up for it. (And let's be real. I really freakin love foodππ) I THOUGHT I was doing OK because "Yea....I "LOOKED" fit....so I must "BE" fit, right!!?!?!?

It wasn't until I started REALLY listening to my body that I realized I was doing WAY MORE HARM THAN GOOD. So things needed to change. I stopped teaching as much, but I have to be honest....a year and a half ago when I stopped teaching that many classes I was worried about 2 things...
π#1 how the heck am I going to stay fit! ..because my body is used to sweating so much...and..
π#2 the food!?!?! Will I still be able to eat!!?!??!!

The answer is YES. We CAN train less and YES we CAN eat and YES we CAN get results!!!! I work out now 4-5 days a week....30-40 min each day!!!!! I'm AMAZED at what my body CAN do when I treat it right. Do you need to start treating your body right too?!?!πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ Because you AREN'T ALONE!!!! Feelings
I used to base my decisions on how I felt in that moment....and guess what!?!!?! It didn't get me where I wanted to be....Are you FEELING a little TOO much?!?!π€·ββοΈπ€
95% of decisions are made with our feelings.
So should you ask yourself ....
π Do I FEEL like starting a side business?
π Do I FEEL like getting up and working out?
π Do I FEEL like stepping outside my comfort zone and asking for a raise?
π Do I feel like bringing up that conversation with that person who continues to hurt me?
The answer is most likely NO...YOU (95% of the time) dont FEEL like doing ANY of those things!!!!! So stop asking yourself how you FEEL about these questions. Because guess what!?!!? We don't FEEL like doing much...that's NATURAL. There's nothing wrong with you. It's human nature. But if you ACTUALLY want a better life then you need to stop listening to feelings.
So HOW do you develop habits to have enough motivation to overcome FEELINGS??? You do it by thinking of the outcome when you FINNISH those tasks. EVERYDAY. And do NOT say ....tomorrow I will FEEL like starting this....Next month I will FEEL ready to take my health more seriously... Next year I Feel I will have more time to take that on...
βββstop FEELING....βββstart DOING. Fear and Feelings are what's holding you back. Planning and Action will propel you forward. Write down what you want. Make a list of ACTIONS to get there. And start TODAY. you won't FEEL ready...EVER. SO GET OVER IT. and do the darn thing. RIGHT NOW. ββ

Go For It
Just because you fear you suck does NOT mean you shouldn't GO FOR IT!!!!!
In 10th grade I homeschooled and one good thing (well, maybe a few good things) came from that....or so I thought. When I heard that I was going to miss speech class that year I was ecstatic!!!! Seriously, when people meet me they think I'm outgoing and I can take any risk and do ALL THE THINGS....but truth be told I'm SCARED TO DEATH of public speaking!!!!! So much so that I had my first panic attack while talking on the phone to a group of people (less than 4 years ago)!!
But because of that terrible predicament (that I convinced myself I would die from) I realized that if I wanted to learn and grow and be successful, then I needed to beat this. I had to do the Fear Killer....TAKE ACTION. So I started going live and posting more video talks and I focused on talking about what I love. The fear started to become smaller.
BUUUUUUUUT....That fear is still there because I almost said NO to a speaking event.. (because I had to get up early and also leave the house π€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈ).
But I don't say NO to the things that scare me. I know better ππ And today I had to face that public speaking fear. I spoke in front of a small group of high schools students (looks like I got that speech class in after all π) but instead of being nervous and scared (which I still was) I focused more on the value I was bringing to people who might be able to use it to better their futures. I talked about what it's like to be your own boss and how to do it. My bestie Candace @justpostedblog and I then heard from the students who wanted to also build their brands and learn how to make a living online. It was AWESOME hearing their excitement and being able to give them feedback on how to GO FOR IT.
If I would have said no....then I would have not only held myself back but I wouldn't have been able to connect with INCREDIBLE INSPIRING High School students who see the world with a more hopeful perspective than most people do. It was SO REFRESHING to hear from them and I was there to teach them but honestly I learned from THEM and I'm so thankful I didn't let fear win. βββ
Choosing or Waiting?
Are you CHOOSING to feel good or are you WAITING for good to happen to you?

You guys!!!! Sometimes I really struggle with this. I think of ALL the things I want my life to be and look like and I start to feel inadequate when those goals aren't met yet. In those moments I've made a choice. A choice to NOT FEEL GOOD. A choice that brings up feelings of "comparison" "envy" "un-gratefullness" .... I see it. I Feel it. And then I Say.....
..
"STOP SARAH!!!! If this goal hasn't happened for you yet, it's because the TIMING is not right yet. So put the negative aside and ask yourself..."What can I do in the PRESENT moment to move forward? And if FEELINGS are really a choice.....how can I CHOOSE to feel good!?!?!"

Do you also struggle with times like this? You aren't alone. It happens to ALL OF US!!!!!! What's helped me is journaling what I appreciate and what I'm grateful for in my life. Looking back at ALL the good in my life really puts it all in perspective. Then I take action on something that makes me happy and makes me FEEL good
...like listening to my personal development, getting a good sweat sesh in, or talking and hanging with a friend. And something amazing happensπππMy mindset has changed because I CHOSE to look for the good and it feels good to feel good. πβ#choosegood #choosethankfulness#choosehappiness

Happy Monday friends βπ I used to LIVE for the weekend and DREADED Mondays only because I was overworked...and under paid and I envied others who made life look easy. ππ π‘.. Don't get me wrong. I love teaching fitness classes and personal training but year after year I was making LESS per class and after 7 years in the Fitness industry I decided to expand my career online. Why!? Becaue I wasn't living for EVERYDAY of the week and I was letting life pass me by rather than Showing up EVERYDAY for my BEST life. I had to REALLY Face the facts πββοΈ I was busy building OTHER peoples dreams and when it comes down to it we either spend our lives working to build OUR OWN dreams.....or someone elses.

Was it hard? Yes.
Was it worth it? Heck yes.

..
Listen, this life by design did NOT happen overnight....I was doing this side hustle while I was busy working for other people until I made enough to be able to work for myself. And that's WITHOUT a college degree, WITHOUT understanding Marketing or Branding and WITHOUT the confidence that I now have.

When I took this leap I was NOT successful but I DEVELOPED the tools to become who I needed to be. And I'm STILL learning...We NEVER stop learning!!!!! And you are never too old to have the life you ALWAYS dreamed of. I never thought I would look forward to Mondays....but now I LOVE them. Change your mindset. Change your life. βπNeed help? I truly believe that happiness is a choice.... because every second that passes can either be spent happy or unhappy.
